Advanced Pharmacy Residency Year 2 (APRY2) Program Description

Advanced pharmacy practice residency

LMPS is proud to offer the first advanced pharmacy practice residency (APRY2) in Canada. Partnered with UBC, we aim to adapt to an increasingly complex healthcare environment by nurturing and developing future practice leaders. The purpose of this program is to train advanced clinical pharmacist specialists as innovators, educators and researchers who can provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care services, advance current practice and educate healthcare professionals and the public.

Program Description

The LMPS Advanced Pharmacy Practice Residency Program is a 52-week program focused on providing pharmacy clinicians experiential training in specialized institutional practice, leadership and research.

The program is designed to provide innovative and creative opportunities for pharmacists to experience practice and care in a variety of settings encompassed by our large urban and rural university-affiliated health regions and partners: Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health Care, Fraser Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and the University of British Columbia.

The program is affiliated with University of British Columbia's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, and is led and delivered by the committed staff of Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services.  This program is adherent to the standards and best practices that these affiliations provide.

In the program's inaugural year, we are offering two specialties: Critical Care and Mental Health/Addiction.
