Advanced Pharmacy Residency Year 2 (APRY2) Program Description

Advanced pharmacy practice residency

LMPS is proud to offer the first Advanced Pharmacy Residency Year 2 (APRY2) Program in Canada.  The purpose of this Year 2 program is to train clinical pharmacy practitioners to be better equipped to address complex patients and improve patient outcomes.  Graduates of the year 2 program will be advanced clinical pharmacy clinicians, educators and researchers!

Program Description

The LMPS Advanced Pharmacy Residency Year 2 Program is a 52-week program focused on providing pharmacy clinicians experiential training in specialized institutional practice, leadership and research.

The program is designed to provide innovative and creative opportunities for pharmacists to experience practice and care in a variety of settings encompassed by our large urban and rural university-affiliated health regions and partners: Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health Care, Fraser Health, the Provincial Health Services Authority and the University of British Columbia.

The Year 2 program is affiliated with University of British Columbia's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists; it is led and delivered by the committed staff of Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services.

In the program's inaugural year, we will be offering 2 positions.  Both positions will provide didactic training, advanced education on research design and complex disease states.  We are offering one position that focuses rotations in the area of Mental Health and Addictions and another position that focuses on Critical Care.
