Our Preceptors

Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services (LMPS) is home to one of the largest and most experienced groups of pharmacy residency preceptors in Canada. With over 250 clinical pharmacists across diverse practice sites, LMPS preceptors bring a wealth of expertise, mentorship, and passion to the residency experience. These professionals are not only seasoned clinicians but also dedicated educators—many of whom are recognized leaders in hospital pharmacy practice.

Preceptors at LMPS play a pivotal role in shaping residents’ clinical judgment, communication skills, and professional growth. Through structured feedback, case-based teaching, and real-time coaching, they foster a supportive learning environment that challenges residents to think critically and practice confidently. Their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement ensures that each resident receives personalized guidance and meaningful opportunities to thrive

 Academic Day Seminars (ADS)

Academic Day Seminars are a core component of the Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services (LMPS) Residency Program, strategically designed to complement and enhance the experiential training that residents receive throughout the year. These structured sessions cover a comprehensive array of topics, including practice management, clinical therapeutics, teaching and preceptorship, and broader professional development.

Facilitated by subject-matter experts, the seminars utilize a case-based and discussion-driven format to encourage active participation, foster critical thinking, and illustrate the practical application of knowledge.

Sessions are intentionally sequenced to build on prior content, supporting longitudinal learning and the progressive development of competencies essential for advanced pharmacy practice.

ADS Sessions occur approximately once per month, in-person and are typically split into adult and pediatric cohorts.

 Mentorship and Support

All of our residents are paired with a clinical advisor and a near-peer mentor. These individuals are available to our residents to provide support throughout the residency year. To learn more about our mentorhship program, click here.
