Year 1 Program Overview
The Year 1 Institutional Pharmacy Residency Program offered by Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services (LMPS) is designed to provide residents with diverse, structured, and immersive learning experiences. The goal is to cultivate the clinical knowledge, practical skills, and professional attributes essential for direct patient care roles and for advancing innovative pharmacy practice.
🏥 Program Overview
This 52-week experiential training program emphasizes institutional pharmacy practice and prepares pharmacists for dynamic roles across a variety of healthcare settings.
Residents gain hands-on experience in both acute care and ambulatory care, across general medicine and specialty clinical areas.
The program spans a wide network of urban and rural university-affiliated health regions, including:
Vancouver Coastal Health
Providence Health Care
Fraser Health
Provincial Health Services Authority
This diversity in training environments exposes residents to a wide breadth of patient care practices, clinical challenges, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
